This page is to document 2GR VVTI cam angle tables and information

I know many hold this information close to the chest like its a state secret. I am freely sharing my cam angle settings for a stock long block 2GR here because none of this info is worth a single horsepower unless you test the results yourself.  I have had 2 stock 2GR, both reported identical cam sync values, they made the same power /powerband , and yet still wanted vastly different cam angles. Not just moving intake and exhaust equally, they wanted different lobe separation. 

Please note.  You should only be looking at the 0 manifold pressure column in my examples. I was tuning for peak power and torque. This car is also tuned in Speed Density.  Also, My latest cam angle table is my preferred method. In my 1st build I was allowing the cam angle to change with manifold pressure at high RPM. This is bad on a drag race shift as it cause wild cam angle changes and oil pressure loss.  I now set my tables up by RPM to keep cam angle stable. Thank you to Ausitn and Scott at ATS  Racing for walking me through the early days of 4 cam VVT setup. 

If  your goal is to squeeze every last bit of power from your combination , you will need to learn to tune cams angles. No two 2GR are alike, not even the stock ones as I have found out .

Some Items of Note:

1. Rapid cam angle changes will drop 10psi of oil pressure

2. The 2GR VVT system does not have adequate oil pressure to alter cam angles at idle. Sorry, no ghost cam tunes.
